TCI Expands, Adds New Team Members
TCI Worldwide,
formerly known as Town Car International, expanded its
services to the Boston area, a venture that is quickly
gaining ground. The company is using a low-cost model
centered on good service, technology, and a clean ride,
especially for corporate travelers. “It’s back to basics
as far as using a driver and a vehicle, whether it’s
going to the airport or getting around town,” says Russ
Cooke, TCI partner, who along with Bill Gemmell helped
found BostonCoach. “The traveler today really wants
to maximize the time on the road at a price that is
more competitive.” TCI opened over 25 years ago in the
New York area and today serves over 250 cities in 75
countries. Gemmell, partner, also notes that technology
has played a major role in the company’s expansion,
which he says is not only ubiquitous, but now more affordable.
Part of the company’s expansion was the addition of
new team members, including John Hall, operations manager,
and Irene Hall, inside sales coordinator. Both previously
worked at BostonCoach, and were excited for the new
opportunity with TCI. “Russ has a true sense of what
customer service should be,” says Irene. Cooke says
their addition helps to strengthen their Boston team.
