The prestige and glamour of Hollywood came to Boston on Feb. 24 for the Ellie Fund’s 17th Annual Oscar Experience Boston Gala, the state’s only Academy Awards celebration officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, an honor the Ellie Fund has earned for the past
11 years.

Founded in 1994, The Ellie Fund is a Needham-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight breast cancer and ease its effects on patients and families across Massachusetts.

The Ellie Fund was honored to partner with Weldon Chauffeured Transportation for the fifth year as the Exclusive Luxury Transportation Sponsor. Partnering with Weldon Chauffeured Transportation was the “obvious choice,” said Ellie Fund executive director Julie Nations. “Weldon Chauffeured Transportation has the most dedicated and intelligent staff in the business. Guests were offered numerous exclusive opportunities to party like a star, starting with first-in-class private car service from Weldon Chauffeured Transportation, and a chance to experience the Academy Awards telecast live from Hollywood on oversized screens. The event also featured a red carpet entrance, an interactive photo booth by Pose Designed Photo Experiences, exciting live and silent auctions, fabulous swag bags, and Hollywood-style surprises. This year’s black-tie event was emceed by WCVB-TV5’s Susan Wornick, Kelley Tuthill, Dorothy Krysiuk and JC Monahan.

Thanks to Weldon Chauffeured Transportation and other generous sponsors, 100% of event proceeds will help the Ellie Fund in its efforts to fight breast cancer.
