New Make-A-Wish Castle Hosts Limo Appreciation Day
Make-A-Wish New Jersey invited luxury ground transportation operators to their brand-new castle in Monroe Township, NJ, on Tuesday, Feb. 26, for their 2013 Limo Appreciation Day. Limo Digest’s assistant publisher Dawn Sheldon and assistant editor Evan McCauley joined the presentation of this special day for the foundation and the industry.
The charity’s goal for creating relationships with owners and operators is to find partners in their quest to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy,” according to the foundation’s mission statement.
The New Jersey Chapter of Make-A-Wish, founded in 1983, is celebrating its 30th year of making dreams a reality for seriously ill children. Since 1983, the Chapter has granted over 7,500 wishes to children in the Garden State.
The types of wishes granted are in five categories: “I wish to go” (to a favorite theme park, on a cruise, to a major sporting event or concert, etc.); “I wish to be” (a fireman, police officer, or model, for example); “I wish to meet” (a favorite athlete, recording artist, television personality, movie star, and so on); “I wish to have” (a computer, tree house, shopping spree, etc.); and “I wish to give” (to someone else in need).
Whether it is for airport transfers, shopping sprees, party wishes, celebrity wishes, or sports team wishes, nearly all of these dreams-come-true require ground transportation, and because they are monumental, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the transportation must be first class. This is where limo owners and operators come into the picture.
Make-A-Wish is asking for owners and operators to join them in their mission by donating their services. If you are a New Jersey area owner or operator and would like to get involved with Make-A-Wish New Jersey, please contact Stacy Kreizman, vice president for program services, at (800) 252-WISH, or skreizman@wishnj.org.
