OLOA Prepares for Canadian Limo Summit & Conference in July
The Ontario Limousine Owners Association (OLOA) is gearing up for next month’s Canadian Limo Summit & Conference, held in conjunction with Limo Digest. The event will take place July 16-18 in breathtaking Niagara Falls, Canada, and feature an opening cocktail reception, followed by a full day of seminars. Sessions will cover important issues for operators doing business on both sides of the border with topics like customer service excellence, new age marketing, reducing expenses, and a cross-border regulatory session with panel discussion.
There will also be an exhibitor and sponsor showcase where attendees can see the latest products and services offered by these conference supporters. A closing dinner and reception will end the night, but not the event. On the final day, attendees will take a tour of Niagara Falls and local wineries. It will be the perfect way to unwind and see one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions.
Phil Bozzelli, treasurer of the OLOA, says the association is extremely excited about the conference and the board is working diligently to perfect every aspect of the event. Sponsors are all on board, including Don Brown Bus Sales, the premier sponsor of the summit. “We’re really looking forward to the educational and networking opportunities that this conference will bring,” says Bozzelli.
The OLOA has also learned that the Ministry of Transportation will be implementing a pilot program that will allow limousines and taxis in the HOV lanes, with or without passengers. Bozzelli says the association would like to see an agreement that will allow for license plates to go on the backs of the vehicles so enforcement officers can more easily identify those permitted to be in the HOV lanes.
The association is continuing to work on amending a Toronto bylaw that fines vehicles that make stops during rush hour. Taxis are currently exempt and the OLOA is fighting for limousines to receive the same courtesy.
