PRLA Spreads Holiday Cheer Throughout City
The holidays
are the most wonderful time of year for the Philadelphia Regional
Limousine Association (PRLA). Last month, the PRLA held its
popular and heartwarming annual events: the Monte Carlo Night
holiday party and the 9th Annual Limo by Santa toy donation,
respectively.
Monte
Carlo Night is a highly anticipated night of networking, fun,
friendly competition, and prizes. Organized by Steve Rhoads
of Rhoads Transportation, along with his committee, the special
holiday celebration featured a full buffet dinner, drinks,
and various casino game tables. Attendees tried their luck
at blackjack, roulette, Texas Hold ‘Em, and craps. The more
“money” won, the more chances participants had to put tickets
in to win some desirable prize goodies. Every possible prize
was a good one, with gifts ranging from Phillies tickets,
restaurant gift cards, big-screen TVs, and passes to the 2012
Limo Digest Show.
This year,
several members of the MTG family of companies attended Monte
Carlo Night, including Limo Digest Sales Manager Richard Springer
and MTG Senior Account Executive Brian O’Neill, along with
Vince Romeo and Justin Dolby, also of MTG. It must have been
their lucky night because they were able to walk off with
a few of the most sought after prizes.
It was
a great event once again, and the perfect opportunity for
PRLA members to bring their loved ones and staff members out
to celebrate the holiday season.
The next
morning, the PRLA was up early for its Limo by Santa event.
After toys were collected and Santa—played by PRLA President
Philip Jagiela of Aries Transportation—was suited up, members
met in South Philadelphia to prep for the limousine caravan
that took Santa through the city all the way to St. Christopher’s
Hospital for Children. Santa and his elves—including Limo
Digest Show Assistant Manager Megan Hogue—were escorted by
Philadelphia Police and members of the Philadelphia Parking
Authority.
This year,
Santa definitely rode in style as Pete Corelli of Lakeview
Custom Coach graciously donated a convertible stretch limousine
for the affair. Santa boldly braved the crisp Philadelphia
winter air in that convertible. He got much attention as the
caravan traveled through Philadelphia, flashing lights, honking
horns, and ringing bells.
Once at
the hospital, the toys were swiftly unloaded and all eyes
were on Santa as he walked the halls visiting young patients
and their families. One couldn’t help but get a little choked
up at the excitement on the children’s faces when they saw
Santa in their hospital rooms.
Jagiela
and his wife Linda thank everyone who helped by donating toys,
time, and vehicles for the event. It’s never too early to
start collecting for the big 10th annual Limo by Santa toy
drive, which will culminate on December 11, 2012.
