MLA Members Party the Night Away at
Holiday Celebration
The Maryland
Limousine Association (MLA) threw a rockin’ holiday bash last
month.
The association’s
holiday party was a pure celebration with food, music, and
plenty of libations. Organized by Mike Greene of A Platinum
Plus Limousine and Shirl Johnson of Lighthouse Limousines,
the MLA holiday party was open to all MLA members and their
families and staff. The MLA even provided each member with
one free ticket each.
Partygoers,
including Limo Digest Associate Editor Liz Hunter, got dolled
up for the night and enjoyed cocktails and a buffet dinner
at the Double Tree Hotel in Baltimore. The night began innocently
enough, because after dinner the party really started.
MLA members
Kim and Ron Klein of Lasting Impressions also moonlight as
DJs and they were on hand to provide the tunes for the evening.
The holiday classics led into some old school favorites and
there were a few surprises as well. We’ve seen a lot of things
in our years in this industry, but it was a first when some
male MLA members ran onto the dance floor in pink wigs and
feather boas to impersonate The Supremes. We’ll never look
at Mike Greene and Mike Ballard the same way. There was also
a special appearance by Elvis and another by James Brown,
executed quite nicely by Marvin Prince of LSA Corporate Car.
Eventually
everyone ended up on the dance floor and it was a great way
to end 2011 for the MLA. President Joanna Fridinger of The
Limo Lady says she couldn’t be happier with the way the party
turned out. “I purposely avoided raffles or things like that
so we could all come here and really celebrate each other
and making it through the year,” she says. “The food was fantastic
and Kim and Ron’s DJ skills really made it a party.”
